Our Progress Week 1

Our production company is named Sunshine Productions and our tagline is "The seeds of creativity." Group members include Fatima Ayoub (Director), Maria Sanchez (editor), and Rosa Calderon(storyboards). This week we decided on our film projects for the next three months which includes a PSA regarding determination in which we will attribute different hobbies people are passionate about, a documentary where we will ask random people in the mall one particular question and the last project is a music video. We finished writing the script for our PSA and scouted our actors along with backups. In addition, we came up with a rough schedule of the days we will be recording next week.

What Music Means to Me

Music doesn't really mean anything to me, specifically. Although music for many people is an outlet of stress, creativity and holds importance in their lives, music is just music. I am not crazy for music compared to other people because music is just something to listen to and fill in the silence. In the end, all varieties of music sort of blend together which is why I don't really have a favorite genre, song or artist. Although I've learned how to play different instruments such as the saxophone, they never really captured my interest. Even though music is not really my thing I appreciate music because its interesting how it has evolved over time and its influence on society.

Problems and Struggles

Some of the general problems in high school are obviously judgmental peers, bullying, lunches and teachers. The whole point of high school is to find yourself but everyone constantly faces the struggle to feel accepted even if it means conforming to uniformity. Teenagers obviously always face some kind of bullying whether its verbal, physical or even mental.  Everyone has whose days your running late and you cant exactly bring a snack which is why I believe, the biggest struggle is coming to school every single day for seven hours and trying to learn on an empty stomach. Not only does school become impossible when you face social problems and bad lunches but a problem we have are some teachers that just not meant to teach. Bad teachers is probably the worst struggle which creates a bigger problem of discouraging education usually making you dread spending an entire hour in class.

The Most Interesting Person in the World

The most interesting person I know is Fatima Ayoub. Although Fatima seems like just a typical girl she has gone though scary experiences at a very young age. For example, when she was 8 years old living in a small village of Lebanon with her family their was a war going on. She recalls an event when their was an attack and neighboring houses were exploding everywhere. The only thing Fatima and her family could do was try to be find safety while kids and innocent people were hurt outside and there was nothing to do and help. Soon after Fatima and her family left their home and while they were in leaving their car was hit by a bomb. In the end, Fatima and her family found someplace safe and thats how she came to this country.
